SUPPORT HB 793
It's time for an Illinois that champions equality, dignity, and economic
justice for all workers! The Dignity in Pay Act (HB 793) successfully passed
the House during the spring legislative session, and we hope to see it move
through the Senate in the current Veto Session. This important legislation
aims to phase out the outdated (1938) discriminatory and ableist practice of
paying people with disabilities subminimum (less than the minimum) wage!
This means that people with disabilities can be paid less than what other
workers earn for their work. If this bill passes, Illinois will proudly
become the 19th state to make sure that ALL individuals who work are paid a
living wage. It's time to prioritize dignity and equality in our workforce.
ADVOCATE BY SUBMITTING A WITNESS SLIP TODAY!
HB 793 is scheduled to be heard in the Senate Executive Committee tomorrow
at 1:00 p.m.. Please show your support for this important bill by filing a
