[IL-Talk] Call for Resolutions

Greetings Fellow Federationists,

The National Federation of the Blind of Illinois Resolutions Committee is now accepting resolutions for consideration at our 2025 state convention. Resolutions that we adopt become the official policy of this organization. This is your opportunity to bring blindness-related issues to our attention, commend individuals or organizations who have gone above and beyond to help blind Illinoisans live the life we want, condemn and deplore actions that harm us, or propose other blindness initiatives at the state level. Resolutions on the following topics are already assigned for drafting:


  *
Commending the passage of the Dignity in Pay Act
  *
Resolution(s) in solidarity of affiliates calling upon their states to withdraw from the Texas v. Kennedy case challenging the constitutionality of Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act and commending Illinois leaders for not joining the lawsuit.
  *
Securing adequate state funding to prevent public transit providers in Illinois from falling off the fiscal cliff.

Resolutions must be submitted in final form to Michal Nowicki and Dustin Cather at treasurer at nfbofillinois.org and cather.dustin at gmail.com. All resolutions are due no later than Friday, August 15, 2025. Please submit resolutions in Microsoft Word format. Please format your resolutions
as follows:

1.      Font- 14 point Calibri
2.      Line spacing- single-spaced
3.      Please be sure to use punctuation conventions used in our past resolutions<https://nfbofillinois.org/resolutions>.
