[IL-Talk] Audio Description

I think the last time I used an audio description was the Goodman theater
in 2015. That was the time that the freedom link people met and we saw a
Christmas carol. I remember that it worked and I actually had no issue with
it. But I think the volume selection was a little limited. You know like
you could turn it up or it was too low. And I think one other time I was
volunteering at the Bell program. I think that may have been several months
later. We went to a movie with the kids. I think that they had the audio
description. And I had to turn it up loud enough to hear it and I always
wanted to experiment with it. And you know I don't really go to movies. I
find that they're just too loud. And I think like 2016 or 2017 may have
been the last time I went to a movie. Number one they just cost too much.
The snacks are too expensive. And sometimes I doze off. They're too loud
and the people sitting in the theaters and they play on their social media
and their phones. You know I'm not paying $18 or $25 or whatever it cost to
go to a movie to be interrupted by a bunch of people playing with their
social media and their phones and texting. So I don't go to movies anymore.
I don't even know what's playing out there. I just sit at home and pick out
whatever is on Netflix or prime video. Or I just play with YouTube all the
time and there's a lot of good stuff there. But I don't see how that woman
would have been able to hear your headphones. I know with me I would have
ignored it and I wouldn't have paid attention to it. And a plus if she was
playing around on her phone what difference would have made in her case.
You know what is the point of her picking on you when she should be minding
her own side of the street. That's the question I would want to ask her.
