Greetings federationists,

I can't believe how quickly the time has flown - our 2025 state convention
has come and gone! It was wonderful to reconnect with longtime members and
to welcome visitors and guests who joined us for a weekend of learning and
community.

I extend my sincere gratitude to everyone who worked both in front of and
behind the scenes to make this year's convention a success. A special round
of applause goes to our registration desk team, information table
volunteers, our incredible sound engineer, and our delightful door prize
co-chairs for bringing joy to the hearts and wallets of our winners.

We also want to take a moment to thank Steve Hastalis for his many years of
dedication and service as a member of our state board. His commitment to our
mission continues to strengthen the movement. At the same time, we're
thrilled to welcome Michelle Ault as the newest member of our state board!
Michelle's passion for the National Federation of the Blind shines through
her tireless work to build membership and foster connection across our
chapters.

Our conventions are great because of you - our members. Please feel free to
email me at president at nfbofillinois.org with your feedback about this year's
convention. We're always refining the format, and your insights help us make
each year even better.

Thanks for all you do to build our organization!

Live the life you want!

The National Federation of the Blind of Illinois advances the lives of its
members and all blind people in Illinois. We know that blindness is not the
characteristic that defines you or your future. Every day we raise the
expectations of blind people because low expectations create obstacles
between blind people and our dreams. Our collective power, determination,
and diversity achieve the aspirations of all blind people.
