Greetings,
I am so please to announce that our Chicago Chapter has voted to participate
in the Bay Bridge Run/walk on October 25 starting at 10:00 a.m. We will be
walking on the Chicago River Walk. This is to raise awareness and to raise
money.
Many indicated during the Chicago Chapter meeting that they would be
participating. I need to know if others want to join us. Please let us know
if you can join us. For those who are going to walk, please share what
motivates you to walk.
We will be asking friends and family to support the National Federation of
the Blind and our chapter by donating at
https://nfb.org/contribute/baybridge. Ask for a flat amount or suggest an
amount per bridge encountered on the river walk. To ensure Chicago chapter
gets credit, they need to put one of our front-runners in the contribution
note box. Our front runners are:
* Sarah Luna
* Denise Avant and
* Patti Chang
Yes, I am walking despite breaking my ankle on May 30. If I can do it, you
can too.
This is our opportunity to support:
* BELL
* Free Canes
* Stem
* Scholarships
* National and State Conventions
* Washington Seminar
* Braille Literacy Initiatives and more.
