[IL-Talk] Delivery Robots

Hi all,

 

Yesterday I was listening to a podcast from WBEZ in Chicago. There was a
news item about the use of robots to deliver food and other items. Evidently
there is a pilot program in some neighborhoods. Several people with
disabilities were interviewed and expressed concerns because the robots
blocked their path and they needed to travel in the street. Is this an
advocacy issue we should be concerned about? We already have issues with
scooters on sidewalks. I don't think we can eliminate delivery robots but
something might be done to develop standards and safety protocols. I don't
live in Chicago but suspect these robots could come to the suburbs.
