Hello, Federation Family!

Happy September! A new month is here, Fall is around the corner, and that
can only mean one thing: State Convention is getting closer!

And guess who’s back? Your State Convention Door Prize Co-Chairs, Michelle
Ault and Tasabih Elfaki, are back again this year and ready to get the door
prize fun started!

This year, we’re bringing the excitement to a new hotel, with a new
convention theme and plenty of momentum. Our 2026 State Convention theme is
“Together We Thrive,” and we want our door prizes to reflect that same
spirit of coming together, contributing, and having some fun along the way.

So, Federation family, it’s officially time to start thinking about those
door prizes!

Cash is King!
You can never go wrong with cash. Whether it’s $5, $10, $20, or more, every
contribution helps us build an exciting collection of prizes throughout
convention.

Cash donations can also be sent through Zelle to our State Treasurer at
treasurer at nfbofillinois.org. Please make sure to write “Door Prizes” in the
memo.

Gift cards are great, too!
Physical gift cards make wonderful door prizes. Please avoid electronic
gift cards, since physical cards are much easier for us to distribute
during convention.

Keep our travelers in mind!
We have Federation family joining us by car, train, and plane, so small and
portable prizes are best. Think fun, useful, and easy to take home.

And, of course, accessibility matters. If you are contributing something
with printed information, Braille and large print are always appreciated.

One very important favor from your Door Prize Co-Chairs:
If you are thinking about bringing or donating a door prize, please let us
know! You don’t have to know exactly what you’re bringing yet. Even if
you’re still deciding, or you simply think you might contribute something,
give us a heads up. Knowing approximately what may be coming in will help
us organize, plan, and coordinate our schedules during convention so we can
keep everything running smoothly.

This is only the beginning! You’ll be hearing from your Door Prize
Co-Chairs again as we count down to convention. We have plenty of fun ahead
with the Battle of the Chapters and all the movement happening across the
Federation from Coast to Coast!

After all, the State Board is preparing to sing “Ain’t No Stopping Us Now,”
and there’s certainly no stopping your Door Prize Co-Chairs once we get
started!

So, hello September, hello convention season, and hello door prizes!

Let’s build the momentum, fill that door prize table, and make this year’s
convention one to remember.
