Dearest Chikako:

I have been and will continue to storm Heaven on behalf of you and Comet. Please feel free to call on us for whatever you need in this difficult, busy time. Take care of your own stress lefvel; get some silent spaces where you can think and pray and clear your mind’s eye, even if it’s in a bathroom somewhere! (smile!)

We’re there for you when you need us!

Love, Susan

Dear Fellow Federationists:

I must convey rather sad news which occurred very recently which greatly affect my personal life. Very recently just early this week my Dog guide, Comet, was diagnosed with a type of cancer appeared to be “Thymoma”. The effective treatment is surgical removal. I am now talking with Kansas State University Veterinary School Clinic to set up an appointment for comet. It looks as I could set an appointment as early as this coming Tuesday morning which I am shooting for.

Right now comet is doing fine. She is eating and drinking well and being pretty active that is a good sign. However, I am predicting that it would be a completely different story a month ahead if she goes on untreated. According to comet’s veterinarian, if she receives no treatment I will lose her within six months (approximately). I am asking for your prayer for comet and myself. There are many things I need to think of that includes the best treatment for comet, expensive cost of the treatment, and Comet’s recovery which is possible if she could withstand the surgical treatment and if a team of veterinarians could remove the tumor located in her chest between her throat and her heart completely, not to mention my dissertation work. In a mean time, Comet and I both are fully intending to resume our normal life as possible.

Please pray for us and I truly thank you in advance for your mental and emotional support.

Sincerely,

Chikako Mochizuki
