I think involvement in Newsline at a deeper level gives Kansas a wonderful opportunity to promote the service among our unaffiliated and otherwise affiliated blind colleagues and is a source of yet untapped potential to recruit new members.     Dear Chapter Presidents, 



    Renee West with newsline at the national center has been in touch with me and has an opportunity for Kansas.  Renee has started a trial program and has asked us to participate in it.  It is a program to help states promote newsline.  She has asked the state to appoint  an affiliate newsline coordinator to work with her.  She is also asking that each chapter have a chapter newsline coordinator.  Tom Page has volunteered to be our state affiliate coordinator and now we are asking you if there is someone in your chapter that would like to be a chapter coordinator.  It will need to be someone who is a newsline user or who is willing to become a newsline user.  Renee can assist us in training people in the use of newsline if they are not fully familiar with all the functions of newsline.  



    I have attached a letter from Renee to the chapter presidents explaining in more detail what she is needing and also attached is a description of the chapter coordinator duties.  



    It would be very helpful if you could look these over and talk with your members who you think might be interested.  If you could do this ASAP it would be appreciated.
