Hello Jayhawk Federationists,

I have been asked to distribute the message below from Sidney who is
experiencing technical issues with her email.

Dear Jayhawk Friends,

What Rob, (kind, tactful, generous Rob) did not tell you is that I told him
I would get the word out about the picnic arrangements right away (Tuesday
or Wednesday) -- and here it is Thursday. I plead way too much birthday
celebration both of those days. I apologize.

So, now you know -- we will picnic on Saturday, June 8th. We agreed at our
club meeting on Saturday that our picnic would begin at noon. But feel free
to come as early as 10:00 or any time between 10:00 and 3:00. Harlan and I
will be there by 11:00, armed with hamburger makings, hot dogs, buns,
ketchup, mustard, pickle relish, sliced onion, charcoal, and ligher fluid.
Our grilling tools disappeared long ago, so we would appreciate it if
someone could bring a long-handled pancake turner or two and a pair of long
tongs.

My recollection is that Brendy and Bob said they would scare up things like
paper plates, napkins, plastic table ware...hope I'm right about that?

We also agreed, I think, that we would have a true potluck -- each of us
bring what we love to fix and eat. Feel free to say what you plan to
bring...or surprise us.

It would be very helpful if you could let me know:

1. Will you be able to attend? If so, how many will be in your party?
Guests are welcome...wanted...hoped-for! It will help Harlan and me to have
an approximate head count by Friday afternoon, June 7th, so we can shop for
hamburgers and hotdogs. If you say you will not be able to attend, but find
at the last minute that you can be there after all, DO come!!

2. Let me know if you need a ride. I'll do what I can to help you make
arrangements.

3. If you have questions about locating the picnic site, let me know. The
parking area is right inside the entrance to the park, and the gazebo is
just a short distance from the parking lot. It is really a lovely spot and
very accessible.

I'm getting excited about this already! Hope you feel the same way.

Sidney
