[Jayhawk-Chapter] Urgent request for action re Newsline Funding

Good morning, Kansas Federationists,

You may recall that the Kansas Newsline funding bill was introduced in the Senate last year as S.B. 46, but then it languished without further action. This happened due to a host of miscommunications and misunderstandings I won't relitigatd. But since then the bill was introduced in the House as H.B. 2180, and is assigned to the House utilities and transportation subcommittee, chaired by Leo Delperdang of Wichita. The 2026 legislative session is under way, so the time has come to call for a hearing on Have. But. 2180. 

In requesting a hearing please mention that you are a Newsline subscriber and tell Rep. Delperdang where you are from. You may contact Mr. Delperdang by email at leo.delperdang at house.ks.gov.

We then need beato be start preparing to testify very soon, as hearings get scheduled suddenly without much time to prepare. The more pressure we bring to bare, the greater our odds of getting a hearing in the House committee. Meanwhile, stay well and happy writing.
