[Job-Discussions] Life After Covid-19

Dear List Members,



For the past three weeks, I have been sick with Covid-19.  Take my word for
it, you don’t want it.  Mask up!  But, I am sorry to say, there is a lot of
it going around and you may get it like I did, despite your best efforts.
In that case, see a doctor! The CDC and your state health departments
cannot tell you important stuff, like the fact you may have low
electrolytes or other bad stuff hiding there just waiting to croak you.
This does affect different people very differently.  It is truly a strange
disease.  But now they know how to treat it.



Okay, done with that!  If you contacted me over the past month, and I
didn’t respond, please give me a shout out again.  Don’t make me dredge
through the 200 emails I seem to get each day.  I am retired from BLIND,
Inc. now, but still have access to my email there, which is
ddavis at blindinc.org.  Please use that address, with dickblind at gmail.com as
a backup.  Calling 612-872-0100 will not get you a good response, because
that is my old office number and I no longer work there.  Dan Ashman,
capable Employment Committee member, still uses that general number and is
more than willing to help you out.  Call me at 612-719-0753 instead. That
is my personal cell phone, not an office phone, so please respect it after
regular hours.



Even though I have retired from BLIND, Inc., I am still going strong in my
role as NFB Employment Committee Chair.  In fact, I now have the time to
work on all the stuff that a person’s “day job” gets in the way of.  Like
putting together a career fair around the time of Washington Seminar.  And
maybe other times during the year.  And really mobilizing the members of
the Employment Committee to better meet your needs instead of trying to do
everything myself.  What a concept!



Okay, all I wanted to do is check in.  Have a good holiday season!  Keep
them job postings coming!
