[Job-Discussions] Cover letters

I hate the term “cover letter” because it isn’t. It is your sales letter. It explains to the employer how you heard of them, why you are a great fit for the job, and asks them to interview you. The resume is the document that shows your qualifications for the job. Always produce a resume and a cover letter targeted to the job in question.
