[Job-Discussions] resume questions

Personally I prefer a separate sheet, whether submitted with the resume or upon request. We check once someone is closer to hire and it is nice to have a separate place to get reference info rather than having to find them in a resume, but that is only my opinion and our company's practice. Regardless, make sure that anyone you include knows that you are including him or her as a reference. It is extremely awkward for all parties involved if the person asked to be a reference is completely unaware that this might be something they are asked to do! Diversity of opinion is what makes this list a great place for advice. Dick's advice is always stellar!

Okay, now I have to disagree with my friend Jennifer Wenzel. I recommend you put three to five references on your resume. Use name, relationship to you or job title snd employer, email, and phone number. Or you can attach a separate resume sheet. That is because some employers like to check references before they interview people. Including references gives you a leg up with them. But her advice isn’t necessarily wrong, just different. Welcome to diversity of opinion!
