This is something that definitely did not originate with the NFB. Yet
it is deeply interesting to me, and I think that in today's changing
political and labor climate, apprenticeship could play a small role in
a larger plan to get more blind people (especially young adults) into
the workforce. Today, I personally know several just in my small
pocket of the world (Northern Indiana) who would jump all over an
opportunity like this.

I have heard recently that apprenticeships are being employed
successfully in Germany, at least, for the benefit of people who are
blind.

Enjoy.

Subject: [ACB-Conversation] Seeking input from people with
disabilities on apprenticeship
To: "ACB-Conversation at acblists.org" <ACB-Conversation at acblists.org>

Our friends at the Partnership on Inclusive
Apprenticeship<https://inclusiveapprenticeship.org/> (PIA) are seeking
input from people with disabilities (ages 16 and older) about their
views on apprenticeship programs. Their aim is to better understand
how they can help design inclusive apprenticeship programs that enable
people with disabilities to gain credentials and skills to succeed in
growing industries.
If you are interested in providing your input, complete PIA’s
questionnaire<https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/2HMWS6S> by Friday, May
14th at 5 PM EST. We also encourage you to share this information with
others who may want to complete the questionnaire.
If you have questions, please reach out to Josh Christianson, Program
Director at PIA
Josh at inclusiveapprenticeship.org<mailto:Josh at inclusiveapprenticeship.org>.
