You’re right.

David.

It just has to be accessible at the level of best effort.

This is correct. Another consideration is that with time-keeping systems, they are usually tied in with HR applications, financial applications, benefits etc. So, changing them may not be as simple as one would think.

Employers have to make accommodations, but sometimes, we might not like the accommodations they choose. We can be part of the choice, but in the end, legally, things don't have to be accessible exactly the way we'd like them.

Someone in legal correct me. I'd like to be wrong.

Well, good job, I hope that you find a way to get your system accessible to you.

This is exactly what I do. I don’t just tell the company that the system is inaccessible. I provide details on assistive technology and show them how they can make systems accessible. I want to improve the world not just for blind people but for everyone. Even though accessibility is a must for people with disabilities, it helps everyone by making digital content more usable.

Hi Michael, I simply ran into this option a few years ago, whenever I started having to use a timekeeping system, called data, logic software, and well I finally got the hang of their system, it did take some getting used to. Whatever I was having issues, I always reached out to the company and I also reached out to the employee that were having me use the system. So I would recommend reaching out to the people that managed that system, and see if they can make it somewhat accessible to you.

Hi,
What do you do when the system needed to enter your hours worked to get paid is incompatible with screen readers?
Thank you,
Mike
