Colleagues,

Navigating the path to career fulfillment can be especially challenging for individuals with vision loss. Providing impactful access to relevant resources and real-world examples of success is crucial to fostering aspirations and empowering students to make informed career decisions.

In this regard, we invite you to explore our vast Career Conversations archives, a comprehensive collection of YouTube video interviews featuring working professionals who share their personal journeys and insights on navigating the workplace with vision loss. With over 22 interviews spanning a wide range of professions, from doctors and lawyers to musicians and voice actors including an agent with NASA and a blind Embalmer, our Career Conversations series offers a valuable resource for students, rehabilitation consumers, and job seekers alike.

Creative ways to include Career Conversations into your teaching or rehabilitation practice:

  * Inspire and motivate students: Use Career Conversations as a classroom tool to spark discussions about career options, dispel misconceptions, and encourage students to pursue their dreams.
  * Empower rehabilitation consumers: Guide your clients through our Career Conversations series to gain insights into real-world employment scenarios, identify potential career paths, and enhance their confidence in their employment potential.
  * Support job seekers: Share Career Conversations with individuals seeking employment opportunities to broaden their horizons, explore diverse career fields, and gain valuable tips for navigating the job search process.
  * Encourage employers, including work sites providing paid or unpaid work experiences to view this empowering media.

To further enrich your engagement with our Career Conversations series, we also encourage you to share recommendations of blind or low-vision individuals you believe would be valuable additions to our interview roster. Your input will help us expand the collection and provide even greater representation of diverse career paths and experiences.

We invite you to bookmark our Career Conversations page and incorporate it into your teaching and rehabilitation practices:
