I have done some gig work and liked the flexible schedule. I see a few disadvantages. I might be mistaken but I’ not sure if this work approach would be something a rehabilitation counselor would support. In my experience counselors have encouraged people to find fulltime jobs. Another disadvantage to gig work is that the individual would be responsible for any accommodations they might need like a computer, screenreader, or Braille display. People like me who have had work experience and own assistive technology are at an advantage. There might be implications for someone who isn’t on SSDI or SSI who needs health insurance and can’t afford it if they do gig work. I would like to do gig work again but may need to look for a fulltime job.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-family:"Aptos",sans-serif'><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-family:"Aptos",sans-serif'>Dan<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-family:"Aptos",sans-serif'><o:p> </o:p></span></p><div><div style='border:none;border-top:solid #E1E1E1 1.0pt;padding:3.0pt 0in 0in 0in'><p class=MsoNormal><b>From:</b> Job-Discussions <job-discussions-bounces@nfbnet.org> <b>On Behalf Of </b>Justin Williams via Job-Discussions<br><b>Sent:</b> Tuesday, May 14, 2024 1:03 PM<br><b>To:</b> 'Job Discussions internet Mailing List' <job-discussions@nfbnet.org><br><b>Cc:</b> Justin Williams <justin.williams2@gmail.com><br><b>Subject:</b> Re: [Job-Discussions] Gig Economy: Definition, Pros & Cons, and How to Find Gig Work<o:p></o:p></p></div></div><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>Great article.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>Love it.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><div style='border:none;border-top:solid #E1E1E1 1.0pt;padding:3.0pt 0in 0in 0in'><p class=MsoNormal><b>From:</b> Job-Discussions <<a href="mailto:job-discussions-bounces@nfbnet.org">job-discussions-bounces@nfbnet.org</a>> <b>On Behalf Of </b>Kris Colcock via Job-Discussions<br><b>Sent:</b> Tuesday, May 14, 2024 12:36 PM<br><b>To:</b> Job Discussions internet Mailing List <<a href="mailto:job-discussions@nfbnet.org">job-discussions@nfbnet.org</a>><br><b>Cc:</b> Kris Colcock <<a href="mailto:achievingaccess@gmail.com">achievingaccess@gmail.com</a>><br><b>Subject:</b> Re: [Job-Discussions] Gig Economy: Definition, Pros & Cons, and How to Find Gig Work<o:p></o:p></p></div><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><div><p class=MsoNormal>This is a good article.
