The <strong><span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Office of Equity and Social Justice</span></strong>, established in 2015, serves to: implement the 2016-2022 Equity and Social Justice Strategic Plan; embed an equity lens in all decision-making processes
and organizational practices; lead and support regional efforts to advance equity and social justice; support anti-racist and pro-equity capacity-building internally and externally through technical assistance, trainings and other efforts; promote accountability
and organizational advancement towards equity. <br>
Office of Civil Rights<br>
In 2017, the County's <strong><span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Civil Rights</span></strong> program became part of Office of Equity and Social Justice. Civil Rights enforces the County's fair employment, fair housing, public accommodations, and
fair contracting ordinances, and assists the County with Title VI and ADA compliance.<br>
<br>
The Civil Rights <strong><span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Senior Investigator</span></strong> will lead and support overall project management and office management for civil rights work in the Office of Equity and Social Justice. The Senior Investigator
will serve as part of a team supporting the Civil Rights/ADA Program Manager in a range of activities ranging from civil rights Title VI investigations<strong><span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif"> </span></strong>and mediation policy and strategy
development and community engagement. The position will possess the ability to engage with the public and bring to resolution complaints of discrimination related to employment, housing, public accommodation, and associated duties of the office. Additional
work may range from budgeting to contracting and meeting/event planning and coordination. The Senior Investigator will also be an expert in the field of equity and social justice, representing the Office in broad venues and providing training and technical
assistance. The position requires the ability effectively communicate and promote non-discrimination, practices and to provide leadership and expertise to resolve real or to avoid potential discriminatory actions. Confidentiality and integrity are essential
to this position. <br>
