<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0in;font-size:12pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">We have seen a lot of job seeker career fair registrations
recently in which job seekers have refused us permission to send their
registration information and/or resume to the employers. While that is a matter of personal
choice, and some people value their privacy, we wanted to let you know how the
system works so those of you who have not registered yet can make a more
informed decision, and those who have may want to reconsider the one they made.

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0in;font-size:12pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">

you did not give us permission to send your registration information or resume
to employers, you will have to take responsibility for doing that yourself. If
you do not, the employers in the career fair will have no idea you exist until
they meet you face to face at the fair. If you want to change your mind, see
note 7 for information on how to do that.

is not something you “just want to get out of the way so you can go to the
career fair;” it is an integral part of the process. Therefore, do not rush
through it! Take all the time you need to do a thorough job. The employers will
use it to evaluate you. Remember that this is your first chance to make a good
impression.

there are limits on the number of characters you can enter, consider using
Microsoft Word or a similar program that enables you to count the number of
characters you have written. After you have refined what you want to say in
Word or another text file, you can copy and paste your responses into the
registration slots. This is a skill you will use many times applying for jobs
or in employment.

registration form is not something you can leave half-filled and return to later.
When you start filling it out, you must complete it. You can abandon it without
submitting it and return later. If you do that, make sure to copy what you
entered and save it in a Word or other text file so you don’t have to recreate
it.

sure your resume is complete and fully proofed before you submit your
registration, since you will not be able to attach it later. We won’t be able

You will have to do that yourself when you receive the employer contact
information two weeks before the career fair.

people have been getting error messages saying that their registration did not
go through. That is a system glitch. We thought we’d gotten rid of it, but it

patient! If ten or fifteen minutes pass and you don’t get confirmation, you may
have to submit again.
