The primary purpose of a Community Engagement Specialist is to build strategic relationships and partnerships to advance the city’s goals and interrupt systemic racism. The Community Engagement (CE) Specialist understands the city’s work and that of our community
partners as well as the gaps, barriers, and disparities that prevent some of our residents from thriving. Their role is to make the critical connections needed to close those gaps and reduce barriers and disparities. <br>
<br>
<strong><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Community Engagement Specialist - Health on the Go:</span></strong><b><br>
</b>This CE Specialist works with Hennepin County and other government agencies, community-based organizations, faith organizations, schools, apartment managers, and other Brooklyn Park stakeholders to advance health equity and address the social determinants
of health.<b><br>
<strong><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">This is a grant-funded position through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) grant with funding secured through December 2024. Funding beyond that time cannot be guaranteed but the City will be seeking additional
funding.</span></strong></b><br>

<strong><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Community Engagement Specialist:

</b>This CE Specialist position is the counterpart to the Neighborhood Relations Specialist (NRS) role. While the NRS’ work is geographic specific, the CE Specialist works with community-based organizations, faith organizations, schools, and other stakeholders
who operate across geographies to build connections and advance the city's goals.<br>
