This was one of the category on Jeopardy last night. The questions were about study of living things and most were about sea creatures.

Hi Dick!

Phenology is different than phrenology or phernology. I know, it’s confusing!!! I got phenology directly from the newspaper and even googled it up and found that it’s an actual field of study. Phenology is correct.

I thought phrenology was an old practice of determining things by studying the human skull. Is your spelling correct?

Subject: [Jobs] Phenology?

Hi all!
I was reading the local newspaper over this last weekend when I stumbled on an article about the perdictions of the upcomming winter. In this article, they mentioned phenology which is the science that studies how the seasons effect wildlife. I was stunned when I ran into the term because I didn’t know that I had done phenology for years without knowing it until then. Since I read that article, I did some research into phenology. I found several phenology projects, an advertisement about tracking how the environment is effecting the milk thistle on farms and that they were looking for farmers to do this work. I have even found an online course that teaches how to lead a phenology project. I also found at least two descriptions of both amitures and professionals conducting phenology. I have not found a professional phenology field that stands alone. I have not even found a phenology degree. As though that isn’t enough, I have not yet found what science field phenology is attached to yet. Does anyone know where I could look to find this information? Also, does anyone know which field of science that is closest to phenology? The closest that I could think of is environmental science, biology, environmental biology, a naturealists, meteorology, climatology, historical climatology and the atmospheric sciences. I’d really appriciate this!!!

Blessed be!!!
