The person in this management position will be supervising the instructor's at our state agency's rehab center for the blind.

Pay Grade 15 (MIN-MID) $38,770.08 - $51,361.20 yearly at 37.5 hour work week OR $41,354.64 - $54,785.28 yearly at 40 hour work week
Characteristics of the Job :
Provides direct supervision over all employees within a section; and performs other duties as required.
Minimum Requirement - Education :
Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.
Minimum Requirement - Experience :
Must have four years of professional administrative experience.
Substitute Education for Experience :
A master's degree in public or business administration or a related field will substitute for one year of the required experience.
Substitute Experience for Education :
Additional administrative or research experience will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Description of Job Duties
This position serves as the Administrative Section Supervisor of the Vocational Preparation Section of the Charles W. McDowell Center, which assists consumers who are blind or visually-impaired in achieving their educational, vocational and independent living goals.
This position plans, organizes and supervises the work of vocational rehabilitation staff, monitors and evaluates staff performance, counsels staff regarding work-related issues and handles leave and overtime requests.
This position arranges work schedules and arranges for substitute staff when needed, provides in-service training for staff, schedules consumer staffing conferences, communicates class schedules to consumers and staff and monitors and tracks consumer progress through vocational training programs.
This position interprets and enforces agency rules and policies and recommends revisions to rules and policies when needed. This position serves as on-call manager in rotation and fills in for the facility manager when needed. This position also monitors budget allotments to ensure efficiency and performs other duties as assigned.
