Hello Laura and all others,

It is my understanding that the qualifications for the ABBLE Account do not include income. Disclaimer the maximum allowable amount in this particular type of account is, I believe, $400,000. You can deposit 14,000, $500 annually without being taxed or penalized if you our and SSI recipient. I establish the account to protect needs -based benefits I receive, which do not include SSI. Also for tax purposes it is a wise idea to place money in and Able Account. Second disclaimer I am not a tax accountant nor am I an expert in the field of Able Account.

I'm considering opening an ABLE account, but I'm expecting to lose SSI
within a year or two as my earnings and SSDI benefits increase. What would
happen to an ABLE account when this happens?
