Ericka,

I agree with you about moving on. I also completely understand the frustration of wanting to work while being blind and getting shot down time after time! I recently lost my Volvo auto internet sales position and I am still very disappointed about the situation. I worked so hard to be the best I could become in my position and it really sucks having to go through the process of locating and landing another position that I would like to work. I came close to giving up during the last month and now I am more determined than ever to get revenge and succeed again! I think I am a pretty nice guy, but now I am putting my “Game Face” back on and plan on kicking some butt! I have had several interviews over the last month and even though I feel like I performed well in the interviews, I feel like I am getting shot down way to often since I think it is easy for an employer to say, “thanks, but no thanks” to me! I have been waking up during the middle of the night to run down to my computer and apply to positions and I have questioned myself about if it is worth it! I know my crazy hard work is worth it and I know it will pay-off sometime soon! I think I have as much to B. and complain about as anyone and I really appreciate it when I hear positive success stories from other blind people who are on this list! I hope everyone has a great successful week!

Steve

I am glad that Dick shared what he did and I am sure he had permission to share. We have discussed this matter over and over and I think it is time to change topics. Many times we have been reminded that employers do look and see what we write. I think they do not right here because they do not feel comfortable. If you notice, it is other people sending stuff to Dick to post, not usually from the company itself. Dick merely showed this to teach a lesson about how important etiquette, manners and getting a job are linked. Readers are of all different ages and it is important to share what employers are seeing. This is not just for us to complain but to learn. Take this opportunity rather than just complaining about how the world is or isn’t. We should be asking employers questions directly. I wish they would comment and some of things said in these discussions. I think it would be an eye-opener .
