Good afternoon everyone,
I hope everyone is having a terrific Thursday!
I wanted to circulate information about the upcoming audio-described and
relaxed performance happening at People's Light, next Sunday, June 30th at
2:00 PM. Audio description services will be provided by Nicole Sardella. As
usual, this performance features a sensory tour starting at 1:00 PM, and
pre-show notes starting about 15 minutes before 2:00 PM.
Please see below for a description of the performance, as well as some
information offered by Olivia DiIorio, Front of House and Accessibility
manager at People's Light.
"Here is a description of Off By One:
"A wrong-number text brings strangers together in a web of curiosity and
memory, with magnetic poet Douglas Roote (multi-award winner David
Strathairn, The Cherry Orchard) at the center. As two women bond over the
late writer's work, this gentle narrative explores questions of fate,
coincidence, and the profound impact of a seemingly small life. In this
poignant world premiere written by Emmy Award winner Joseph Dougherty,
directed by Abigail Adams (Lettie, The Vinegar Tree) and featuring Company
Artists Claire Inie-Richards (The Vinegar Tree), Aubie Merrylees (The
Vinegar Tree), and Mary Elizabeth Scallen (Alice in Wonderland: A Musical
Panto), Off By One grapples with the deeply human impulse to seek meaning
and connection in the accidental and unknown."
End of Description.
"If you are interested in joining us for this performance, you can either
contact the Box Office directly at (610) 644-3500 or
tickets at peopleslight.org or I am happy to coordinate ticketing for you! If
you talk to the Box Office, please let them know if you are planning to
attend the Sensory Tour and/or use Audio Description so they can seat you
accordingly. Please also let them know if you have an Art-Reach Access Card.
The performance is at 2pm in the Steinbright Theatre, the smaller of our
two spaces in the second building on campus. The Sensory Tour will be held
in the library at 1pm, and there will be a Panel following the performance,
featuring two of the actors, Aubie Merrylees, and Claire Inie-Ricards, as
well as a grief counselor".
Thanks to Olivia for this information.
You can contact Olivia to secure your tickets, or with any questions by
sending her an email at: diiorio at peopleslight.org
I'm looking forward to attending this performance, and hope you'll join me!
All best,
Simon.
