The shirt design features the bold statement “BLINDNESS IS A SPECTRUM” in
large black and red lettering.
Underneath, it reads:
“Rights should not depend on how much sight someone has.”
The center of the design features a large pair of black glasses. Different
sections of the lenses visually represent several experiences of vision
loss, including blurred vision, low contrast, tunnel vision, and light
sensitivity. Above the glasses are the words Low Vision, Partial Sight, and
Vision Loss.
A folded white cane with a red tip stretches underneath the glasses,
representing independence, mobility, access, and the blind community.
At the bottom, the design reads:
“Full and equal enjoyment.”

The National Federation of the Blind advances the lives of its members and
all blind people in the United States. We know that blindness is not the
characteristic that defines you or your future. Every day we raise the
expectations of blind people, because low expectations create obstacles
between blind people and our dreams. Our collective power, determination,
and diversity achieve the aspirations of all blind people.
