Hello all,
Open to all; please share with your networks!
The Pennsylvania Organization of Blind Parents (POBP) invites you to join
us for our monthly meeting on Saturday, October 17, 2026, from 7 PM to 8
:30PM ET via Zoom.
`

In honor of Blind Equality Achievement Month, we will host a special panel
discussion featuring four parents who will share their experiences,
perspectives, and insights on parenting and blindness.

Our panelists will include:

1. Christine Brunson – Mother of a pre-teen.
2. Lyvette Byrd – Mother of an adult child with special needs.
3. Yvonne Hughes – Mother of twins.
4. Patricia Knight – Sighted mother of a blind woman.

This discussion will provide an opportunity to hear diverse perspectives on
parenting, family life, disability, and the experiences of blind
individuals and their families. We look forward to an engaging and
meaningful conversation.

Although this meeting is hosted by POBP, it is open to everyone, regardless
of geographical location. You do not need to be a POBP member or reside in
Pennsylvania to participate. We encourage blind parents, sighted parents of
blind children, family members, allies, and anyone interested in learning
more to join us.
We hope you will join us for this special discussion as we recognize Blind
Equality Achievement Month and celebrate the experiences, accomplishments,
and voices of blind individuals and their families.

The National Federation of the Blind advances the lives of its members and
all blind people in the United States. We know that blindness is not the
characteristic that defines you or your future. Every day we raise the
expectations of blind people, because low expectations create obstacles
between blind people and our dreams. Our collective power, determination,
and diversity achieve the aspirations of all blind people.
