Hello everyone,
This is just a friendly reminder that our upcoming chapter meeting on September 12, 2026 will be held at Landmark Americana, located at 3333 Market Street, Philadelphia, 19104. The meeting will also start at 10:30 a.m. Please note that this is a different time than our regular meeting.

Also, please keep in mind that, due to the larger size of our party, the restaurant will not be able to provide individual checks for each person, rather they do checks by table. So please be prepared to pay the person who puts all the bills for your table on their credit card, using an electronic form of payment or cash.

Hello everyone,
Happy back-to-school!
This Saturday, September 12, 2026 will be our next Keystone Chapter meeting, and it will be held using a hybrid model, with an in-person and a virtual option.
This month, we have an unexpected change for our meeting location. Instead of being held at the Penn Museum, which is undergoing some unforeseen repairs to their meeting spaces, we will be holding our September meeting at the Landmark Americana Restaurant in University City. Landmark is located at 3333 Market Street, Philadelphia 19104. The restaurant will open at 10:30 a.m. So we will begin shortly after that. We will be able to order right off the menu and have our meeting at the same time! They serve brunch as well as lunch/dinner. No travel from meeting place to lunch place this month. It is all happening at one spot! So although this is an unexpected change, it will be a positive and fun change!

Some items we will talk about include: fundraising ideas for the Fall, legislation to help blind people return to work, state convention in Hershey, PA this November, our participation in the  Philadelphia marathon, and a trip to the National Constitution Center to experience a touch tour of Signers Hall on September 27, 2026.

Last month, our chapter members completed our first-ever Philly Fun Walk to help raise awareness about blind people and to raise funds for the work of the National Federation of the Blind. We walked 2 miles in the hot August sun from the Penn Museum to the beautiful Cira Green park, not to mention, climbed up 12 flights of stairs to get to the rooftop venue. And proving to people that blind people get up and move, and we are part of the community, all along the way! It was a success and we have almost reached our goal of $250!. We encourage a donation of $20 to support this cause, but we are grateful for any amount.

Come and learn, share, connect, and help in our movement to make our communities a more equitable place for blind people. If you have never been to a Keystone Chapter meeting before, or haven't been here in a while, it's never too late to start or to reconnect. We are so excited to see everyone here!
