Good evening.
Today, after sending my phone number to this list, I received a text
from an unknown number claiming to be Shara. It read, "Did you receive
my email Justin? Shara Winton." I searched my inbox and didn't find
anything. I asked her if she sent it to me directly, and if this was her
new number. The response read, "Yes, Justin. I'm in the middle of
something and I need to purchase a couple of gift cards. Can you help
with that please?" I immediately asked this person to call me, and of
course they didn't.
So, here is a message on behalf of the real Shara. Do not purchase any
gift cards unless you have spoken to Shara, whether in person or over
the phone. The odds of Shara asking you to buy a gift card are slim to
none. If you think it might be her, call her, or ask her to call you.
these scammers are watching our email list. They are clever. If you
receive any emails or texts asking you to buy anything, talk with
whoever is supposedly emailing or texting you in person or over the phone.
Stay safe, and don't get scammed.
Have a blessed night.
