[Massachusetts-NFB] rally is still happening today : Massachusetts Commission for the Blind Leadership Announcement

              Hello Federationists, I have forwarded you this message in regards to the changes taking place at the Mass Commission for the Blind. I have gotten a couple of calls this morning with individuals concerned about the Rally at noon today at eh a State house. 

The Speak out rally. Below is more information: 

As workers, consumers, and community leaders we are deeply invested in the future of MCB. Over the last several years, the agency has faced challenges that have impacted working conditions for staff and the quality and accessibility of services for residents across the Commonwealth. We have come together as labor and community organizations to identify key issues within the agency and are fighting to make sure they are addressed. We envision a future that includes accountability from leadership and prioritizing the well-being and needs of our communities.

Good afternoon,

I’m writing to share with you David D’Arcangelo, Commissioner of Massachusetts Commission for the Blind, has decided to step down from his role effective Friday, April 7, 2023.

David has agreed to stay on in an advisory capacity to support a smooth transition while a search for his replacement takes place. I will serve as Acting Commissioner until a new commissioner is appointed.

I am looking forward to working with you to serve the people of the Commonwealth who are blind and visually impaired.
