Shara Winton

Allen recited the NFB pledge.

Allen put forth a motion to approve the November minutes which Brian
seconded. The minutes were approved unanimously.

Shara reminded everyone to pay their chapter dues by the end of the month
to remain active. Dues are $10 and payment can be made via PayPal and
Zelle.

· For PayPal, please go to www.nfbma.org. Payment should be made
via the "Donate Now" button in the upper right-hand corner

· For Zelle, payment should be sent to the affiliate using the
email address treasurer at nfbma.org. Please note, it is critical to indicate
the purpose for the payment in the memo field

We went over the treasurer’s report. We recently received a check for
$186.35 as part of our Pampered Chef fundraiser. Sandy factored in this
payment bringing our treasury balance to $1,844.48.

Cullen went over the December presidential release highlights and Debbie
presented the highlights from January. Justin made a note that BLIND, Inc
in Minnesota did not close due to the Black Lives Matter movement. This is
a rumor that has circulated.

The Great Gathering In will be on Monday, January 29th. President Riccobono
requests that everyone listen live via Zoom.

Shara went over her president’s report. Everyone who plans to attend the
state convention should reserve their rooms now. Additionally, please
contact your team leader if you are joining one of the six teams for lunch
on Saturday, March 16th. The lunch block will be 2-hours and will be an
out-of-pocket expense. Team leaders need to know ASAP so a reservation can
be made and braille menus can be prepared.

We are hoping to open a BELL academy here in Massachusetts. A couple of our
affiliate’s members will be going down to Baltimore shortly for training.

Cullen did a presentation on Be My AI which is a featured introduced in the
Be My Eyes app. The app utilizes ChatGPT to analyze pictures and provide a
detailed description. This app holds a lot of promise for the blind
community.

Next month, Shara will do the icebreaker.

Shara and Debbie will present tips on navigating our convention hotel.

Liz will recite the NFB pledge.

Sandy will summarize the presidential release.

The meeting adjourned at 8:01PM. Our next meeting will be Tuesday, Feb. 13th
at 7:00PM via zoom.
