Hi Everyone,
Here are the November parent division notes.
Ellen Bartelt
November Parent Division Meeting Notes:
Call to Order:
The parent division meeting was called to order on November 13, at 6:00
P.M. The people who were in attendance were Ellen Bartelt, Youm Wen Ly, Hai
Wen Ly, Stephanie Valdes, and Katie Sevier. Stephanie led everyone in the
NFB pledge.
Secretary Report:
The September meeting notes were approved by the members with spelling
corrections.
Treasury Report:
The parent division currently has 150.25 dollars in their treasury. The
division was given a 40-dollar donation last summer. There was twenty-five
dollars given to the division in dues.
Fun-raising:
Ellen noted when looking through the google drive the division has a
successful bake sale a few years ago. The division will produce a fun-raiser
idea in the next few months.
Washington Seminar:
Washington Seminar will take place from January 25-28. Members should start
thinking about if they want to attend the seminar.
BELL Program:
The BELL program will take place in the first two weeks in August. Stephanie
will start looking for a location soon. There has been some discussion about
ether having the program in a more central part of the state, or the same
place it was last year. If the program is more central more students can
attend it.
State Convention:
Stephanie discussed for the parent division to host a brake out session
during the state convention. Members brought the ideas of either having an
outreach or an IEP session.
Family Event:
The library downstate is interested in having a live book talk with blind
students. Members have also discussed having a family day next year during
Meet the Blind Month.
Meeting Ending:
The meeting ended at 6:48 P.M.
