Hi all,

II hope you are doing well. As you know, we filed HB 2066, An Act to impose
fines on transportation network drivers who discriminate against riders with
disabilities who use service animals. It appears that a hearing will be
scheduled at any time between now and the end of the summer.

Carl, the ADA coordinator at the state house, is going to try to get some
more information for us. However, he shared that the legislature has passed
a new rule requiring 10 days' notice for a hearing, which gives us some time
to prepare. However, I wanted to let folks know that they should start
thinking about and planning the testimony they would like to provide for the
hearing. Carl was permitted to conduct outreach to all the legislators to
co-sponsor the bill, which helped increase the number of co-sponsors to 9
legislators.

Please let me know if you require any assistance with drafting your
testimony. And please share the word with other service animal users who
have experienced ride denials in your community. I will keep you posted if I
hear any more updates regarding hearing dates.
