Hi NFB fam,
Let's do this together, as many of us who can. This will be a great outing
for us. To sign up for this just follow the directions below.
Also, perhaps, we could do an early dinner together, after the tour. If you
are interested in having dinner together, let me know and I will find a
place near by that will be suitable for as many of us who are interested.
We can not stay out too late though, because we have our state board meeting
that evening at 7:30. I would love to see as many of you as possible, at
this event.
Warmly,
Shara
Dear Friends,
We will be having an in person Feeling for Form Tour of the exhibition
Witnessing Humanity- the Art of John Wilson on Tuesday June 17th at 1.30pm
when the exhibition will be closed to the public. Born in Roxbury,
Massachusetts, John Wilson (1922-2015) is one of Boston's most esteemed
artists. His work, made over the span of 60 years, continues to resonate
with the persistent realities of disenfranchisement, racial prejudice, and
social injustice. Featuring approximately 110 works by the artist in a wide
range of media-prints, drawings, paintings, sculpture, and illustrated
books-the exhibition explores the many ways Wilson called attention to
racial, social, and economic injustices through his art
(https://www.mfa.org/exhibition/witnessing-humanity-the-art-of-john-wilson).
The museum is closed to visitors on Tuesdays so you will only be able to
stay at the MFA for the duration of the tour, no food or retail outlets will
be open. The tour will be multisensory and include touching sculpture by
John Wilson.
Please register for the tour by emailing access at mfa.org
<mailto:access at mfa.org> , places will be limited.
Let me know if you have any questions about this event and we really look
forward to welcoming you to the MFA.
Best
Ronit
