Greetings Federationists,

I hope you are all doing well. As we move deeper into convention season, I know your schedules are packed, and I want to sincerely thank those of you who have already supported or shared information about the NABS Annual Walk-A-Thon. Your engagement means a great deal to our students.

I’m writing with a friendly reminder about this year’s Walk-A-Thon taking place in July. This initiative is one of our largest student driven fundraisers, and your participation—whether by walking, sharing, or encouraging your friends and families, helps strengthen opportunities for blind students across the country.

Participants can walk from anywhere in the world by simply tracking their steps at the beginning and end of the day. We also hope many of you will join us in Austin, TX during national convention as part of the collective walk.

As a refresher, here are the incentives for this year, $100 for the individual who raises the most, 10% of the total pot for the affiliate that raises the most, Pizza for the group that wins the most. Anyone who raises $25 will be entered into a raffle for a chance to win $50

To participate, please complete both forms below. Doing both ensures accurate tracking and eligibility for incentives. The process takes no more than 15 minutes.

Thank you again for all you do for your affiliates and for the Federation. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me at osoluozo at udel.edu <mailto:osoluozo at udel.edu> .

Warm regards,

Osolu Ozo-Onyali

In the meantime, feel free to check out our annual walk-a-thon page below to see how you can register for this exciting event. Please join us by participating in this initiative, solely involving walking…something that is routine to most of us! You will be able to participate anywhere in the world, as long as you are willing to review your steps at the beginning and end of the day, but we hope you will be walking with us in Austin, TX, in conjunction with the National Convention of the National Federation of the Blind.

As for participating, there will be exciting incentives! The incentives will include $100 for the individual who raises the most, 10% of the total pot for the affiliate who raises the most, and pizza for the group who wins the most. For those who raise $25, you will be put into a raffle to potentially get $50 in cash.

Below, you will find two different links. One is to a Google Form that we ask you to fill out when participating, this allows for tracking purposes. The other link will be to the NABS Rally Up page, which provides a way for more information and how you will be participating or donating in our Walk-A-Thon. You will need to make an account on rally up as a way of participation. With Rally Up, you are able to have individuals donate directly to the website or have people sponsor you per metric that they are willing to sponsor you for. For example, I would give you $50 for every mile that you walk. All proceeds under your name will go towards what you raise overall and would be taken into account when calculating the incentives.

Please note that you have to fill out both the Google form and the rally up sign ups in order to be eligible for the incentives. Completing both actions should take no longer than 15 minutes!
