Happy Day NFB Family and Friends,

We are excited to share that we've officially taken the first steps toward
starting a new chapter for those living north of Boston! While the chapter
is not yet official-pending the drafting and approval of a constitution by
the affiliate board-this is an important and energizing beginning.

Twelve individuals joined us for our first meeting on Thursday, April 28, at
the main branch of the Peabody Public Library. Even more exciting, seven of
those attendees are new to NFB involvement and are eager to have a more
convenient, local option for in-person participation. It's clear there is
both interest and momentum!

At this initial meeting, we elected the following officers:

*	President: Isabel Rosario
*	Vice President: Juan Camello
*	Secretary: Karen Hoffman
*	Treasurer: Allen Larkin

Our next meeting will take place on Thursday, May 28, at Gallo Nero Italian
Restaurant, located at 89 Main Street in Peabody. We'll be using their
private room.

*	Dinner access begins at 6:00 PM
*	You are responsible for your own food and drink
*	Meeting runs from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM

If you plan to eat, we encourage you to arrive early and place your order
before the meeting begins.

Please share this announcement with anyone who lives north of Boston or who
may benefit from a Thursday evening NFB meeting. The more people we reach,
the stronger this new chapter will become and in turn will make our
affiliate stronger!

A special thank you to Isabel for helping bring this vision to life-your
leadership is already making a difference!

With Love, Hope and Determination,

Shara Winton

President, National federation of the Blind of Massachusetts
