He is originally from Kenya. He moved to the U.S to pursue higher education after completing high school in Kenya. He obtained his undergraduate degree in Biology, a Master's degree in food science, and a Ph.D. in Nutrition. Before starting his current position at Purdue University Northwest, Ezra spent two years at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York working as a Postdoctoral Teaching and Research Fellow in the Division of Nutritional Sciences. His research focuses on the use of naturally occurring bioactive food compounds for prevention and/or treatment of chronic diseases. Ezra is married to Judith, and together they have an 8-months old daughter, Annabelle. </p>
