Last night, January 30, 2025, NAGDU hosted a town hall, facilitated by Al<br>
Elia, NAGDU board member, regarding the Uber Self-ID project. Our guest was<br>
Briana Gilmore from Uber. Briana provided an overview of what Self-ID is,<br>
how it's used, what it's meant to help with, and how riders can optionally<br>
opt-in to use it.<br>

I am happy to report that this feature is ready for use. Please note, this<br>
feature is completely optional, and it can be disabled at any time. To get<br>
started, open your Uber app, go to Account, then Settings, then<br>
Accessibility, then Service Animal, and follow the prompts. Please note that<br>
in the edit field where you type in how your service animal helps you, there<br>
is a 20-character limit. Unfortunately, this might not be obvious. For me,<br>
typing the two words, guide dog, was enough. If for some reason, you are not<br>
able to see this feature, or the buttons in this area of the app are not<br>
reading correctly with Voice Over and/or Talk Back, you may need to remove<br>
and reinstall the Uber app to fix this.<br>
