The device is currently scheduled to be released in the last quarter of 2025. I have tested the device and found it useful in avoiding obstacles and navigating crowded environments, although it takes some practice. It features two cameras, will stop if stairs or a curb are detected, and allows the user to walk at their preferred speed. The handle will provide haptic feedback about the need to turn. The company is interested in gaining feedback from potential users and has conducted several surveys about user preferences and the importance of various features and has made substantial changes to the design in response.

This device, which is now in prototype, will be demonstrated in Boston on May 9 at the Massachusetts Commission for the Blind, 600 Washington St., Boston. The initial 40 spots to see and try out this device were filled in 1 hour.

I contacted the Glidance team, and they have told me that they will be opening up a few new spots.
