<div dir="ltr"><div dir="ltr">Hi all,<div><br></div><div>Here is a draft document summarizing an initial set of guidelines to help keep our listserv respectful, valuable, and welcoming for everyone. Please note that this is a draft. If you have feedback, please email me directly off list at <a href="mailto:gene.sh.kim@gmail.com">gene.sh.kim@gmail.com</a> so that I can consider incorporating it. Anyone is welcome to send me feedback, but as a courtesy to those on the list who would not like their inboxes filled with emails relating to this topic, please send me feedback directly. National Federation of the Blind of Massachusetts community. For example,
emails about guide dogs, tech accessibility, blindness skills and strategies,
local blindness resources, social events that everyone is invited to, and
announcements about Federation events are appropriate. Consider why your
message would be useful or interesting to this community. Keep unrelated
advertisements, chain emails, and general political arguments unrelated to blindness
or accessibility off the list.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0in 0in 8pt;line-height:107%;font-size:11pt;font-family:Aptos,sans-serif">When responding to emails on the list, make sure to be
courteous toward other list members. Move personal arrangements and one-on-one
conversations off-list. For example, an invitation to a social event belongs on
the list, but coordinating where someone should pick you up generally belongs
in a direct message. Participating actively in email discussions is encouraged
if the conversation could be helpful to the other members on the list; emails
like "thanks" or "got it" should generally go directly to
the sender rather than to the entire list. When replying to emails, make sure
to double-check who is in the To and CC fields of the email to ensure that you
are replying to the intended audience. Keep responses focused on the topic.
Personal attacks, insults, and harassment are not acceptable. Remember to
adhere to the <a href="https://nfb.org/about-us/history-and-governance/code-conduct/code" style="color:rgb(70,120,134)">NFB Code
of Conduct</a>.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0in 0in 8pt;line-height:107%;font-size:11pt;font-family:Aptos,sans-serif">This is a reminder that this is a public list; anyone on the
internet is able to subscribe, send emails, and read the emails you send. Also,
remember that this is a publicly indexed list, meaning all conversations are
publicly searchable by anyone on the internet. Keep sensitive information off
the list, including passwords, account numbers, and other personally
identifiable information. If you need to give someone your address, phone
number, or other personal information, send it directly to that person. Also,
get permission before sharing someone else\u2019s personal information or forwarding
their private messages. Be cautious with unexpected links, attachments, or
requests for money or personal information, even if the message appears to come
from someone you know.</p></div><div><br></div><div>Cheers,</div><div>Gene</div></div></div>
