[MD-AtLarge] Meeting Reminder and Minutes

Hello All,
 
It is time for the June meeting of the At Large Chapter. As usual, the
National President's message will be played at 7:30, followed by the meeting
at 8pm. For your convenience, the call in number is 641-715-3272. The access
code is 720125. Debbie Brown, the first vice president of NFBMD, will be
sharing some interesting comments with us. Read the minutes below. 
 
May 2017 At Large Chapter Meeting 
 
Presidential release was played at 7:30 
The meeting was started at 8:00 PM 
Approximately 15 members in attendance 
 
Elections were held and the following were elected:  
Marguerite Woods, President 
Sandra Burchett, Vice President 
Danielle Earl, Secretary 
Sharon Maneki, Treasurer 
Dana Diaz, Board Member 
Henry Smith, Board member 
 
Steven Booth and Sarah Baebler 
Both spoke about their experiences of participating in jury duty.  Steve did
not have a great experience when participating in jury duty because the
judge did not think that blind people were capable of performing this
services.  Sarah had a much better experience participating in jury duty 
 
There was also a discussion on whether a blind person should serve and
participate in jury duty.  Most members expressed that it should be up to
the blind individual if they want to serve and participate in jury duty
