Meeting Minutes November 2018 At Large Chapter

The Presidential message was played at 7:30.

President Marguerite Woods to order at 8pm. There were approximately 15
people on the call.

Marguerite introduced the new president of NFBMD Ronza Othman. Ronza
explained that she found the NFB when she lived in Illinois and received a
scholarship from them. She has been living in Maryland for 10 years. One
of the things she likes about the NFB most is the networking. If you don't
think you can do something you can probably find someone in the NFB who has
already done it.

Marguerite thanked Sharon for her many years of service as President of
NFBMD.

We discussed the special holiday adds that are now on Newsline. Here is the
list: Target, Walmart, ACE Hardware, Best Buy, Home Depot, Joanne Fabrics,
Kohl's, Lowes, Office Depot and Staples.

For the remainder of the meeting Jerry Price, the technology education
specialist at LBPH, described his top 10 picks for good holiday gifts.

The National Federation of the Blind of Maryland knows that blindness is not
the characteristic that defines you or your future. Every day we raise the
expectations of blind people, because low expectations create obstacles
between blind people and our dreams. You can live the life you want;
blindness is not what holds you back.
