The National Federation of the Blind of Maryland knows that blindness is not
the characteristic that defines you or your future. Every day we raise the
expectations of blind people, because low expectations create obstacles
between blind people and our dreams. You can live the life you want;
blindness is not what holds you back.

December Minutes

There were 20 callers at the meeting. At 7:30 pm we played the National
President's Message, which contained holiday greetings and information about
Washington Seminar which begins on January 29.

President Marguerite Woods called the meeting to order at 8 pm. We had two
guest speakers: Ellen Ringlein who talked about the Independence Market and
Mike Tindell who talked about the Victor Stream. Ellen explained that the
Independence Market sells canes and cane tips, writing aids, sewing aids,
cooking gadgets, games and more. Mike described new features of the Victor
Stream such as podcasts, getting radio stations over the internet and the
Trekker, which is a GPS system. We plan to have Mike back on a future call
because he ran out of time.

The meeting was adjourned at 9 pm.

Respectfully submitted,

Sharon Maneki
