Hello All,

 

The next meeting of the At Large Chapter will be on Tuesday, November 20.
The National President's message begins at 7:30 followed by the meeting at 8
pm.  You will meet the new president of the NFBMD and hear from Jerry Price,
the technology specialist at the library for the blind.  Jerry will give
some ideas for holiday gifts.  Remember the call in number is:

good start by talking with your friends tomorrow evening.  Please read the
minutes below:

 

At large Chapter Meeting Minutes for October 16, 2018 

 

Presidential release was played at 7:35 PM 

The meeting was started at 8 PM by Margarete Woods, President 

Approximately 15 members on the call 

 

Sharon gave the following report on funds raised from two fundraisers that
occurred during the months of September and October 

312 dollars was raised from the movie fundraiser

70 dollars was raised from the ceramics fundraiser

Total raised was $382 

 

Both fund raisers were successful 

 

Sharon gave details about what will be occurring at the State convention
being held on November 9th through 11th.

 

Tonight's speaker is Adelmo Vigil, from New Mexico. He is on the board of
directors of the National Board of the NFB and is the president of the New
Mexico affiliate. He is the 7th child of 13. He attended the school for the
blind in New Mexico. He received a Degree in teaching and became an
elementary teacher for 16 years and then started to teach adults at the New
Mexico Commission for the Blind. He spoke about his experiences on how the
NFB has helped and encouraged him as a blind person. He is the National rep
for the Maryland State Convention.
