[MD-AtLarge] Meeting Reminder & Minutes

Hello All,

 

The August Meeting of the At Large Chapter will take place on Tuesday,
August 20.  The National President's message will be played at 7:30 followed
by the meeting from 8-9 pm.  We will continue our travel theme that we
started in June.  Our special guest will be Maurice Peret an experienced
traveler and well known orientation and mobility instructor.  Members will
share tidbits about the National Convention in Las Vegas and more..  For
your convenience the conference call number is:  605-313-4818.  The access
code is 720125.  Get out of the heat and pick up some tips on using your
feet to get places.  Read the minutes from the June meeting below:

 

At Large Chapter Meeting Minutes for June 2019 

The Presidential Release was played at 7:30 PM 

The Meeting was started at 8 PM by Margarete Woods, President

Approximately 15 members on the call 

The members recited the NFB Pledge 

 

Sharon spoke about the process of getting your Real ID from the MVA. It
needs to be done by October 1, 2020.  You need to bring with you to the MVA
your birth certificate, your passport if you have one, marriage certificate
if married, social security card, and 2 different items that prove your name
and current address.  

 

A motion was made and passed to not have a meeting in July.  It was
seconded, and 

 

Members discussed different travel tips such as, being cautious but having
fun, Mark your suitcase with something that makes it distinguish from others
traveling, tiles that worked with a smart phone, and keep a list of credit
cards and personal info in many different places
