State Convention is November 12th through 14th.

Pam Goodman shared information with the chapter about The Maryland
Employment Committee. This committee was formed to provide support and
share resources for job seekers, mid-career folks and even retirees who
have lots of helpful knowledge having walked the career path.

The committee has three questions to help us gather info, plan, and
prioritize.

1. What is your career goal, current career path or career history?

2. What do you think the top priorities are to help the blind to find
and keep fulfilling employment?

3. Do you have a passion or experience with employment and would like to
contribute your energy as a committee leader?

Please email us your name and chapter and your answers to the questions
above and send it to goodman_pamela at yahoo.com

Tonight’s guest speaker is our national rep Julie Deden Director of the
Colorado Center for the Blind and her husband Dan Burke. They gave us
background information on themselves, as well as, talked about how the
National Federation of the Blind has impacted their lives.

Respectfully Submitted by Danielle Earl, Secretary

The National Federation of the Blind of Maryland knows that blindness is
not the characteristic that defines you or your future. Everyday we raise
the expectations of blind people, because low expectations create obstacles
between blind people and our dreams. You can live the life you want;
blindness is not what holds you back.
