Friends,

We need your voting experiences from the November 8, 2022 election. Please
share them with me via email at president at nfbmd.org
<mailto:president at nfbmd.org> by December 15, 2022.

As you may recall, we entered into a settlement agreement with the Maryland
State Board of Elections concerning in-person voting with the goal of
eliminating discrimination for the blind and disabled and restoring the
secret ballot. We are in the monitoring phase of that settlement agreement.

We are gathering feedback about this most recent election to be able to
assess compliance with the terms of the settlement. As a result, we need
your experiences, good and bad.

Here are some guiding questions that will hopefully help you as you prepare
to provide information about your experience.

1.	Where did you vote?
2.	Did you vote early or on election day?
3.	Were you given a neutral instruction concerning using a paper ballot
or the electronic ballot marking device?
4.	Did you use the electronic ballot marking device?
5.	Was the electronic ballot marking device set up before you used it
or tried to use it?
6.	Did the voting personnel know how to activate the BMD for your use?
7.	Did you experience any challenges with the BMD?
8.	If you experienced challenges with the BMD, how long did it take for
the voting personnel to resolve those challenges?
9.	How many BMDs were at your voting location?
10.	Did you have to wait to get a BMD (if you used a BMD)?
11.	Did you have your ballot given to you in a sleeve or folder?
12.	Did the voting personnel permit you to submit your own ballot into
the scanner, ?
13.	Did you experience any challenges while voting? If so, please
explain.
14.	Is there anything else you'd like to share?

Thanks,

Ronza

Pronouns: she, her, hers

The National Federation of the Blind of Maryland knows that blindness is not
the characteristic that defines you or your future. Every day we raise the
expectations of blind people, because low expectations create obstacles
between blind people and our dreams. You can live the life you want;
blindness is not what holds you back
