[MD-AtLarge] Meeting Reminder and Minutes

Hello All,

The next meeting of the NFBMD At Large Chapter will be Tuesday October 21st
at 7:30pm. At this meeting we will have two speakers, Qualik Ford and Anil
Lewis. Qualik is the President of the Maryland Association of Blind
Students, and Anil is the director of Strategic Initiatives for the
National Federation of the Blind. They will talk about their stories, about
blindness quality achievement month, how they help blind people reach
employment goals, and more. Be there or be square!

The minutes for the September meeting are below:

NFBMD At Large Chapter Meeting Minutes for September 16, 2025

The Presidential Release was played at 7:35PM.
The meeting was started at 8:00PM by Marguerite Woods, President.
The Round Robin took place. Everyone announced themselves, stated where
they are in the state, and answered the question: what is coming up in
October?
There were approximately 20 members on the call.

Marguerite announced the At Large Chapter’s Evening at the Movies which is
October 11th at 6:30 PM. The movie being audio describe is Hamilton.

Tonight’s guest speaker is Shawn Calaway. He is the president of the
Washington DC affiliate. He Serves on the National board and is the
president of the National Organization of Blind Black Leaders. Shawn shared
information about the state convention for Washington DC. He also shared
his story.

The meeting adjourned at 8:53PM.
