Hello All,
The next meeting of the At Large Chapter of NFBMD will be tomorrow,
Tuesday, May 19, at 7:30 pm. Did you ever wish you could touch objects in a
museum? Our guest for the meeting will tell you where you can do that and
much more. Dr. Cheryl Fogle-Hatch is a blind accessibility museum
consultant. She also has a PHD in anthropology. Come and listen to Cheryl
describe her experiences and learn about the exhibit. Reminder: you must
register for the National Convention. $10 for the virtual, and $25 until
May 31 for the in person. The call in number is 339-209-4083. Read the
minutes for last month's meeting below.

NFBMD At Large Chapter Meeting Minutes for April 21, 2026

The Presidential Release was played at 7:35 PM.

The meeting was started at 8:00 PM by Marguerite Woods, President.

The round robin took place. Everyone announced themselves, stated where
they are in the state, and answered the question is it important to
document our blind stories?

There were approximately 15 members on the call.

Sharon played the article from the braille monitor Friendship in Action

Marguerite asked if anyone from the At Large chapter would like to write up
stories about the chapter or anyone in the chapter would like to write
their own story.

The members discussed the article that we listened to.

The blind movement museum was discussed. You can submit articles to
archives at nfb.org.

Charles led Judy in the NFB pledge.

The National Federation of the Blind of Maryland knows that blindness is
not the characteristic that defines you or your future. Everyday we raise
the expectations of blind people, because low expectations create obstacles
between blind people and our dreams. You can live the life you want;
blindness is not what holds you back.
